I’m Isak, a Minnesota-based writer interested in climate, decarbonization, and wild places.

I currently write about clean energy and climate policy as Director, Communications at Fresh Energy. I manage our content strategy, oversee our ~9,000-person newsletter, film short-form videos, and host podcasts and webinars.

I’ve written about climate, clean energy, and the outdoors for 15 years. Words featured in Outside Magazine, Backpacker Magazine, and Adventure Journal.

I built and manage the Action Network for Friends of Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge. I blog about reading and creativity. I co-founded Seek More Wilderness and ModernKind. I supplement my writing with drone photography.
